Kia ora koutou
I’m Nicky, a fifth-generation Pākehā. My ancestors came out from Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England in the 1860s and we have called Aotearoa New Zealand home ever since. I gratefully acknowledge the manaakitanga of tangata whenua.
I’ve worked in the community and government sectors for over 25 years, with a strong focus on adult education, addictions and wellbeing. I have a Bachelor of Health Sciences and qualifications in adult education and assessment. I’m passionate about the utilisation and power of lived experience, about seeing mana-restoring practises for people in recovery and about being the best tangata Tiriti partner I can be.
I live in Ōtautahi with my teenagers and two cats. I’m delighted to be working for Blueprint for Learning and also working in health promotion around gambling harm.
